HYCU Protege Security Technical Implementation Guide

Version

V1R2

CCIs

CCI-003123

Discussion

This requires the use of secure protocols instead of their unsecured counterparts, such as SSH instead of telnet, SCP instead of FTP, and HTTPS instead of HTTP. If unsecured protocols (lacking cryptographic mechanisms) are used for sessions, the contents of those sessions will be susceptible to eavesdropping, potentially putting sensitive data (including administrator passwords) at risk of compromise and potentially allowing hijacking of maintenance sessions.

Check Content

When FIPS mode is enabled, the HYCU application will use FIPS-compliant behavior. Validation of FIPS status can be done using the following commands:
'cat /proc/sys/crypto/fips_enabled'

If command output does not show "1", this is a finding.

'fips-mode-setup --check'

If command output does not show "FIPS mode is enabled", this is a finding.

'update-crypto-policies --show'

If command output does not show "FIPS", this is a finding.

Fix Text

Stop the HYCU web server:
sudo systemctl stop grizzly.service

Enable FIPS-compliant mode:
sudo /opt/grizzly/bin/enable_fips.sh

Reboot the HYCU virtual appliance:
shutdown -r now
